Moving Part 2

Moving is such a pain! We didn't have time to sort through our stuff before we moved, so we have a ton of clutter. I'm tempted to give all the boxes away that we haven't opened. You can't miss what you don't know you have, right?

We took over someone's contract when we moved into our apartment. I guess it's usually the policy of our apartment complex to not do any cleaning if you take over a contract. It was really inconvenient, but I can handle it except when it comes to the carpets. They were filthy, and we have a baby. They made an exception, but after we moved in. This is what one of our bathrooms looked like for a while since we had to move everything off the carpet for it to be cleaned. (For some reason I can't turn this picture no matter what I do...sorry!)
As we were packing our last minute items before we left California we got a little sloppy and started throwing things in random boxes. We also didn't label some of them. It took us 4 weeks to find our silverware, measuring spoons and my flour and sugar canisters. They were in a box labeled "CD's." The box was taped upside down so the tiny label of "silverware" was hidden. Cereal just doesn't taste as good with plastic spoons.

Wisconsin & Nauvoo

The day after we got to Utah we left on a flight to Wisconsin. (It was Emme's first flight.) We dumped our stuff and left. Some of Justin's family was in the Nauvoo pageant this year so the day after we got to Wisconsin we left for Nauvoo. Only Justin's dad knew we were coming so it was fun to see the surprise on everyone's face when we got there. The pageant was amazing like usual. It was the first time Justin and I were there together, so it was even more special that we had Emmeline with us.

We drove back to Wisconsin on Saturday so we could go to my ward on Sunday to show off Emme and to have a party with my family. We had a lot of fun with everyone and we were so proud to have the family meet Emmeline. We even got to go to my step brother's house and have dinner. There is a picture of his little girl giving Emme a hug. So cute! The only bad thing about our trip is that Emme got a fever the day before we went home. It was mild and it was gone in a few days. Other than that we had a great trip. Emme had fun on her first trip to Grandma and Grandpa Kilby's house. :)

Moving

Ok, It's time to catch everyone up on the last month of our busy lives. So... we moved to Utah! Justin will be starting the MBA program at BYU on Tuesday which is the beginning of 2 weeks of orientation. We are really excited to be starting this new adventure and we are equally excited to be living near family again.

We began this adventure on Monday, July 13th. Since we have 2 cars, Justin drove a 22 foot moving truck with a car on the back and I drove our other car with Emme. We finally arrived in Provo on the afternoon of the 14th. It was a long 2 days of driving, especially with Emmeline. Here is a picture of Emme getting ready for the big move.
