V-Day

I know this is almost 2 weeks late, but better late than never! Since Valentine's Day was on a Sunday Justin and I had our hot date on Saturday night. The MBASA (MBA Spouses Association) had a V-Day dance. Yes, Justin took me to a dance! I couldn't believe it either. They had some dance lessons in the beginning, but we came fashionably late so we could get right to the snack table. (j/k!)
We got to make each other a corsage and a boutonniere out of paper, stickers, crayons and ribbon. We also got our picture taken just like we were at a high school dance! We had a lot of fun talking to the other couples. Justin even dance toward the end when there were only about 5 couples left. He has a reputation to maintain you know! :) (The picture above is our pre dance picture taken by our awesome babysitter Sarah!)
On Sunday Justin made Cafe Rio pork burritos. The pork was AMAZING!!! It tasted just like Cafe Rio. He even made them enchilada style in the oven with sauce and cheese. (Notice the piece of pork on the top of the burrito!) I am so excited that we had a bunch leftover that we had to freeze. I can't wait to eat it again very soon!
Justin also gave Emme and I some Lindt truffles. One of my absolute favorites! It looks like Emme loves chocolate just as much and Justin and I do and she will do anything to get it. :) I was so lucky to have 2 valentines this year. I love you Justin and Emme!

9 Months

Emmeline turned 9 months old on Sunday. We went to the doctor yesterday for her 9 month checkup. Everything was great except her weight. She is in about the 40th percentile for her length and the 6th percentile for her weight. Apparently I am not producing enough fat for her. So... we have to mix her cereal with baby formula now. Good thing we saved all those free samples! It's funny that her weight is so low, this girl LOVES to eat. Her new favorite food is string cheese. We can only put a couple pieces on her tray otherwise she crams all of it in her mouth. She pulls herself up like a champ and is starting to walk along the furniture. She loves anything that makes noise, bath time, and playing with remote controls and our cell phones. She also just learned how to wave this week. She waved at Justin when he came home from school last night. It was so cute! Here are a couple pictures we took of her on Sunday. I LOVE this dress!!! :)

I love this picture... her shoes are slippery!

Fun Fun Fun

We have been having a lot of fun lately. We see Emme's personality come out more and more every day. I think she gets her fun (and silly) personality from Justin...

Here are a few fun things Emme has been up to lately...

Body surfing on our toys

Figuring out how to open the entertainment center door

Telling Mom, "No More Pictures!"

Hiding in our toy basket

Squeezing into a cheese ball bucket and...

Playing with our new, FREE, noisy toy
Emme LOVES this new toy. She pushed it back and forth for at least 30 minutes tonight. I hope you had fun reading about our fun!

Cupcakes

I have always wanted to make red velvet cake, but I never really had a reason until last week. A few sisters in our ward put together a bake sale to raise money for the Haiti relief effort. I made red velvet cupcakes covered with cream cheese frosting with a slice of strawberry on top. I had a lot of fun making them. I think they turned out pretty cute... they tasted good too so that's a plus!
