We had a busy but fun weekend! It started on Friday afternoon. The MBASA (MBA Spouses Association) had an easter egg hunt activity for all the kids/ families. There were so many kids there.
The women that set up the activity did an amazing job! We got there a little late, just in time for the egg hunt. Emme loved playing with the easter eggs and we loved eating all her candy! Sorry Emme... not until next year!
That pretty much took up our whole morning and early afternoon. Emme and I didn't have anything planned until later that night, but Justin left around 5:00 to go camping with the scouts from our ward. It was a quick overnight trip. It sounds like they had a lot of fun even when they woke up to snow on their camp in the morning!
Since Justin was away the girls played! Emme and I had a girl's night. We painted our toenails and went to a Marriott School family activity called Fake Break. They had a raffle, games, food and a carnival for the kids. Emme "colored" a picture for Justin and even got her face painted.
We had a fun girl's night, but we are sure glad to have Justin back home!
I don't know how a dirty diaper ended up in Emme's laundry, but there you have it. I didn't even notice it until I was halfway upstairs to our apartment with her clean laundry. I think it held up pretty well. I was wondering why there was so much lint in the lint trap!
Oh, I also forgot to make peas to go with dinner. Luckily I had some alfredo packets in the pantry so the meal wasn't completely ruined. We had green alfredo sauce with green spaghetti noodles and yellow jello jiggler coins.
For dessert we had a King family specialty... a Green Mean Machine! It's sprite and green sherbet mixed up in a blender. Simple, but sooo good!
One last thing... I wanted to drop a treat off in Justin's locker today and write a note about a leprechaun, but I ran out of time. I did, however, manage to make a little leprechaun hat for Emme.
Emme has started giving kisses! If you tell her, "give Daddy kiss," she will lean forward and let you kiss her. It is sooo cute! Once we realized she would do this I started telling her to give her dolls kisses. This is Emme giving her glowworm a kiss (thanks Uncle Kyle!) After she kissed it she snuggle up next to it. I wasn't fast enough with the camera, but you get the idea. This is definitely one of the best parts of being a parent!
Emme turned 10 months last Sunday. She is getting so big! She walks really well now holding onto one of our hands. Some of her favorite things are saying OOooo! when she sees something she likes, music, being tickled and waving at everyone and everything. Some of the new things Emme does are pointing, dancing to music and giving kisses to us and her stuffed toys. One other big thing is that she got her first top tooth on Saturday! We love you Emme :)
We also discovered that she really likes the song "Buddy Holly" by Weezer. We heard it at the MBA talent show on Saturday. She sat on my lap and wiggle to the music for most of the song. Emme doesn't only love to listen to music, she loves discovering retro music devices (aka cassette tapes). I had some old tapes on the bottom shelf of our cd rack (cds can almost be called retro as well) that Emme discovered last week. I heard a funny noise and then I saw Emme literally learning the ins and outs of using my cassette tape. Writing about this makes me feel old... the tape she unraveled was even from my senior year of high school. It wasn't that long ago was it?!
