Charlie at 4 Months

Charlie turned 4 months old on Wednesday.  The time has gone by so fast.  He brings so much joy into our family.  He is so happy and content.  He puts up with Emme constantly playing with his arms and legs, giving him hugs that are a little too tight and singing right in his face.

He had his 4 month check up yesterday.  He weighs 14lbs 11oz (50th percentile) and is 26 1/2 inches long (90 - 95th percentile).  He is huge!  He is as heavy as Emme was at 6 months and as long as she was between 7 and 8 months.  I know boys tend to be bigger in general, but wow!

The last month he has discovered his feet and learned how to roll over.  He is SO strong and loves standing up on our laps.  He has also started to scoot on his stomach like an inchworm.  He will scoot across his blanket to get his pacifier and his favorite toy, a crinkley star.

He needs something to suck on a lot of the time.  If it's not his pacifier, it's his hands.  He LOVES his hands.  It's funny to see, because Emme didn't even use a pacifier until she was about 4 months old.

Some new things this month are swimming with Emme on our balcony.

Watching 4th of July fireworks.  This is what he did the whole time.  He loved them!

We fed him rice cereal last week.  He loves it and does a pretty good job eating for a beginner.

Charlie has been sleeping in a bassinett in our room since we brought him home.  We got Emme a toddler bed a couple weeks ago and now have switched him to the crib in Emme's room.  He sleeps so much better now!  It's great :)

One last thing.  He has started losing a bunch of his dark newborn hair :(  I am so sad!  New blondish hair is growing in it's place.  Speaking of hair... who else thinks his hair looks similar to Ernie's? :)
