Pre-Christmas Highlights

Two highlights before Christmas for our family were going to see Santa and picking out our Christmas tree.

We live close to the grocery store Macey's.  They always have fun family events throughout the year.  A week or two before Christmas they have a few fun Christmas crafts, samples of holiday food, and a chance for kids to sit on Santa's lap for free.

 

Emme was excited to see him, but she got really shy once she was on his lap.  She told Santa she wanted a dolly for Christmas.  There was no one behind us in line, so she got to talk to him for a while.  Charlie sat there for about a minute just staring at him, then his face got really sad and he started to cry.  After Emme was done she got to go over to Mrs. Claus and get a candy cane.  She was really excited.

After was saw Santa we went and made reindeer antlers for Emme and Charlie.  We put paint on Charlie's nose, but Emme didn't want anything to do with it. We all had a lot of fun, even when Emme broke a glass jar of spaghetti sauce on the floor right before we left :)

Two years ago we got our Christmas tree from a lot in someone's front yard.  We decided to go back again this year.  They didn't have very many trees left, so we kind of ended up with a Charlie Brown looking tree.  We let Emme make the final decision between 2 trees. 

 

Here it is all decorated with presents from Emme and Charlie's grandparents from my side of the family.  We opened them early since we spent Christmas Eve at Justin's house.  Those two sure are loved!
