We decided to go down to Albuquerque to visit my dad and my step-mom Jacque over Labor Day weekend. This was Justin' first time down there since we were first married. We had a lot of fun. We went to the zoo. Emme LOVED the animals. She kept making growling sounds in the cat area. We also got to take a nice train ride around the zoo. Emme really liked it. She danced every time the bell rang at the train crossings.
There were also a lot of ducks at the zoo. Here are my dad and Justin helping Emme feed them.
We took a nice drive up into the mountains on Saturday. We stopped at a really nice spot along the way and went on a little hike. Emme got a ride from Grandpa.
Justin thought it would be fun to stick Emme's feet in the water. Emme didn't think it was so much fun.
Emme discovered rocks on our hike. She squatted on the trail for the longest time trying to dig rocks out of the dirt. Justin took some really cute pictures of her.
On Sunday we went to my step-brother's ward because his son was bearing his testimony in preparation to go on his mission. They dropped him of at the MTC on September 15th. He will be serving in the Fresno, CA Spanish speaking mission. He is going to be a great missionary. Funny thing, a family blessed their baby that day, and the new father was actually a missionary in my ward back home years ago. I also ran into our friend Jared who lives in WI. Small world!
One last thing. *Background: My mom had to put our cat to sleep in August :(* There is a cat from my dad's neighborhood that has decided to call their house "home." It started showing up around the time my mom put my cat to sleep. I almost died the first time I saw the new cat. It's creepy how much this new cat looks like my cat Lizzie. This isn't the best picture of Lizzie, but it will have to do. Lizzie is at the top and my dad's cat is at the bottom.
We had a lot of fun and were so glad to be able to visit again this summer!
